At this point it’s pretty much a given that any wedding Amorology Weddings touches is going to be a beaut. Doctors Devi and Ryan wanted to have both Hindu and Western ceremonies and reflect their bright personalities + professions. Captured to a T by Sunday Romance, this wedding stole our hearts and it’s kicking off the week in fun pops of pink, orange, and all around fusion fabulousness:
From Heather of Amorology Weddings: When Devi and Ryan met in a hospital in LA, these two doctors knew they showed all the symptoms for a love that was sure to last. For their Torrey Pines Hilton Indian-fusion wedding we found inspiration in their shared love of the medical field and for life. This couple was a dream to work with, who was not only willing to trust us but have fun throughout the process and the results were positive!
Ryan made his grand entrance during the baharat, where he was brought into the ceremony on a horse. The ceremony further hinted to the concept and feel of the event by exhibiting a custom sign we created that read “where there is love there is life”… a favorite phrase of the groom’s. This hung above them on the Mandap as they participated in two ceremonies, one Indian and one Western.
As guests entered the ceremony they passed through the “Waiting Room” and were directed to check in and leave their prescription for a good marriage at the receptionist’s desk. Colorful clipboards adorned the office wall while displaying guest names and what room they were to be seen in (A.K.A. Table assignments) for later that evening.
As guests made their way into the reception, they were greeted with candy pill bottle favors that
read “There is no remedy to love, but to love more.” by Henry David Thoreau. The bride’s favorite animal, the elephant, was brought in through whimsy custom table numbers and paper elements by Brightly Designed that illustrated elephants with different medical instruments. Candle votives were appropriately wrapped with white gauze adding another decor element and texture to the table. Gorgeous centerpieces by Twigg Botanicals made of coral charm peonies, tulips, dahlias and dripping with white phaleonopsis orchids offered the ballroom a lushness and garden feel. The vases were also custom wrapped with the first-aid plus sign that we carried throughout the event… hinting towards a love that makes everything better.
After dinner, guests indulged on a delicious “Sugar Coma” dessert bar which included cupcakes named: Case of the Coconuts, CPR (Chocolate Peanut Butter Resuscitation), Viral Vanilla, Chocolate Check Up, An Apple a Day, Chocolate Overdose and Caramel Consciousness.
The sweetness continued with the couple’s first dance and a garter toss where Devi blindfolded her groom and tricked him into getting the garter off his best man’s leg rather than hers!
We loved working with Ryan and Devi and hope their future is filled with all the health and happiness that they deserve! – Heather of Amorology Weddings
